Emirate Airlines have revealed that their latest aircrafts will feature windowless planes. Passengers will no longer be able to see directly outside the plans, but instead will view projected images from fibre-optic cameras outside the aircraft. Emirates says the changes will pave the way for future aircrafts, with the ultimate aim for all plans to be windowless.
Aviation expert John Strickland supported the changes and said that having no windows would not just make aircrafts more structurally sound but could also improve fuel efficiency. Aircrafts will be lighter and faster without windows. Airline President, Sir Tim Clark, said: “The quality of the imagery is so good, it’s better than the natural eye”.
The virtual windows can be seen in the first class cabin of Emirates’ newest Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
